The Modern Information Society and Innovations Public Union (MISI) has officially launched the “AI for Governance” project, aimed at studying and promoting the application of artificial intelligence in public administration. The project is implemented with the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The project focuses on researching advanced international experience in the use of artificial intelligence in government decision-making, public service delivery, and policy implementation, with the goal of identifying best practices that can be adapted to Azerbaijan’s institutional and socio-economic context.
Within the framework of the initiative, MISI will conduct analytical research, organize meetings and consultations with relevant public and private sector stakeholders, and carry out awareness-raising activities. The project also envisages studying successful AI governance models and regulatory approaches applied in leading countries, as well as assessing the current institutional readiness and digital capacity in Azerbaijan.
Special attention will be paid to issues such as ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence, transparency and accountability in algorithmic decision-making, data protection, and the role of AI in improving the efficiency and inclusiveness of public administration.
The “AI for Governance” project reflects MISI’s continued commitment to supporting innovation-driven governance, strengthening evidence-based policymaking, and contributing to the development of a modern, digital, and citizen-oriented public sector in Azerbaijan.
