Within the framework of the project “Research of International Experience on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration,” the Modern Information Society and Innovations Public Union (the Union) continued its research visit to Finland with meetings at Tampere City Municipality.
During the meeting, discussions focused on local practices aimed at improving municipal governance through artificial intelligence and algorithm-based solutions, enhancing citizens’ well-being, and supporting the development of business and startup ecosystems through innovative approaches.
Representatives of Tampere Municipality — Aleksi Kopponen, Director of the Digital Transformation Department, and Sanni Pöntinen, Director of Development — provided detailed information on innovative projects currently being implemented by the municipality. These initiatives were presented as practical examples of how digital and AI-driven solutions contribute to increased transparency in governance, more efficient service delivery, and the improvement of residents’ daily lives.
The meeting provided valuable insights into Tampere’s approach to smart governance and demonstrated how municipal-level innovation strategies can support sustainable and citizen-oriented public administration.
