October 3, 2022, Stockholm The members of the Board of Directors of the “Modern Information Society and Innovations” Public Union, which is the winner of the special grant competition announced by the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the “Year of Shusha”, in accordance with the project plan, “Smart City” / “Smart City” They were sent to the Kingdom of Sweden to conduct research on the Scandinavian model of the “village” concept. The members of the team first had a meeting with Mr. Jörgen Gustafsson, director of the company’s Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, at the head office of Ericsson, one of the world’s leading telecommunication companies, located in Stockholm. The company official was informed about the steps taken in the field of “Smart city/village” construction in Azerbaijan, in particular, about the Agali village of Zangilan district as an existing best practice. Yörgen Gustafsson, on the other hand, spoke about the research conducted in connection with the modern technologies applied in the construction of “Smart city/village” and the existing research methodologies successfully applied in this field. Also, in the example of the city of Shusha, the possibilities of applying the “Smart city” and “Digital twins” models, which are a virtual representation of the real infrastructure, where different infrastructure elements within the city can work in connection with each other through the “Internet of Things” (Internet of Things) discussed. The role of private enterprises in the formation of “Smart cities/villages” where citizens can easily use modern technologies and providing accessibility for citizens and international experience in the field of public-private sector partnership were also among the main topics of discussion. It should be noted that the meetings of the staff members with relevant companies and institutions in the Kingdom of Sweden are ongoing.
