The Modern Information Society and Innovations Public Union, the winner of a special grant competition announced by the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the Year of Shusha, held a working meeting with the Shusha City State Reserve Department as part of the project implementation.
During the meeting, Tural Novruzov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the State Reserve, emphasized the importance of rapid restoration and construction works in Shusha in line with the directives of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He highlighted the critical role of modern technologies in ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of these efforts.
The discussion then focused on the Smart Villages in Azerbaijan: Concept for Analysis and Roadmap and relevant international best practices. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to conduct comprehensive surveys and interviews with all key stakeholders—including relevant institutions and Shusha residents—to ensure that proposed technologies are understandable, user-friendly, and respectful of the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The importance of awareness-raising activities to improve residents’ digital literacy and to facilitate the smooth adoption of innovative management approaches was also underlined.
Consultations were held to define the content and scope of the planned surveys and interviews. In addition, the Chairman of the Public Union, Seymur Hasanov, outlined potential areas of cooperation and initiatives aimed at identifying and enhancing the digital knowledge and skills of residents.
It was noted that meetings with relevant institutions are ongoing within the framework of the project.
