The meetings focused on projects and public campaigns aimed at encouraging citizen participation in urban development processes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"766\" data-end=\"1150\">During the discussions, particular attention was given to Malm\u00f6 Municipality\u2019s approach to <strong data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"885\">children\u2019s participation<\/strong> in city planning. To enable children to express their views about the cities they live in in a free and engaging manner, interactive maps incorporating game elements have been developed, allowing children to record their ideas and suggestions directly on the maps.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1152\" data-end=\"1704\">The <strong data-start=\"1156\" data-end=\"1177\">Hammarby district<\/strong>, developed to accommodate approximately 40,000 residents near Lund, was highlighted as a distinctive example of sustainable urban planning, particularly due to its advanced <strong data-start=\"1351\" data-end=\"1374\">car-sharing systems<\/strong> and the application of innovative <strong data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1441\">waste recycling technologies<\/strong>. In this context, <strong data-start=\"1460\" data-end=\"1501\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Lund University<\/span><\/span><\/strong> was noted as one of the leading academic institutions conducting research on the theoretical foundations of urban and rural development, with a strong focus on <strong data-start=\"1662\" data-end=\"1703\">nature-based and innovative solutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1706\" data-end=\"2430\">The city of Helsingborg, located in the same region, is pursuing an ambitious goal of becoming the <strong data-start=\"1805\" data-end=\"1832\">smartest city in Europe<\/strong> through the implementation of the <strong data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"1908\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">H22 Helsingborg 2022<\/span><\/span><\/strong> project. The H22 Expo, organized within the framework of this initiative, represents a significant platform for showcasing smart-city innovations to a wide range of stakeholders. As part of the project, Helsingborg Municipality has established a dedicated center featuring a <strong data-start=\"2184\" data-end=\"2207\">physical city model<\/strong>, where residents are encouraged to share their opinions and suggestions.
